Dive site 1: Abu Nugar
Dive site 2: Fanadir Dacht Dacht
For the first dive we were off to Abu Nugar. Here we did a one way, meaning the boat dropped us off at the end of the reef and the current eventually brought us into the lagoon, where it would be moored up. Here we saw a few pyjama slug, giant morays, blue spotted sting rays and a feather tail ray (picture). The water was a cool 23 degrees and the visibility was quite good.
After getting back to the boat we congratulated Karin on her 300th dive with James & Mac! We enjoyed some delicious lunch and after a special cake was prepared for her.
For the second dive we went to Fanadir Dacht Dacht, here we did a drift pick up. Allowing us to explore the entire stretch of reef without having to swim back to the drop point. In the sandy shallows 3 curious spotted eagle rays approached us and hung around. Giving us some time to take wonderful pictures. Later we explored the edge of the drop at 20 meters swimming, passed the over hangs and bright gorgonias that were extending out from the wall. Right as we were going to begin our safety we came across giant mangrove stingrays laying in the sand. They must’ve been at least a meter and a half wide which made for some impressive pictures. All in all, today was a very relaxed afternoon. We had 2 easy dives with plenty to of sea life encounters and beautiful hard corals to admire.

Tauchgang 1: Abu Nugar
Tauchgang 2: Fanadir Dacht Dacht
Der erste Tauchgang führte uns heute nach Abu Nugar „Foc“ als Oneway. In einem schönen Korallengarten gab es neben einer interessanten Landschaft auch Schrift-Feilenfische (Foto) und Rotmeer-Palettenstachler.
Nach der Pause sprangen wir in Fanadir Dacht Dacht zum Pick up. Die Sicht war…..naja….aber das kennen wir ja von Dacht, dafür war richtig was los! Es gab Federschwanzstechrochen, Mangrovenrochen und insgesamt wurden mindesten 17 mal Adlerrochen gesichtet. Strike!!! Sehr nice!

Tauchgang 1: Fanadir Foc
Tauchgang 2. Fanadir Dacht
Heute ging es in den Norden, genauer gesagt nach Fanadir Foc zum ersten Tauchgang. Gesehen haben wir dort neben unzähligen Riesenmuränen und Fransendrachenköpfen noch eine Pyjamanacktschnecke, Gelbmaulmuräne, Oktopus, Graue Muräne und als absolutes Highlight eine Spanische Tänzerin und das noch am Tage.
Zum zweiten Tauchgang ging es dann zum Drift bei Fanadir Dacht. Dort haben wir zwei Gelbmaulmuränen, einen Buckeldrachenkopf, einen großen Tuna und ganz ganz viele bunte Fische gesehen, welche bei der super Sicht in perfektem Licht den Tauchgang phänomenal machten. Auf dem Rückweg gabs noch einen leckeren Kuchen, so dass alle glücklich und zufrieden in der Basis ankamen.
